Ladies and gentlemen, The Tain has a video

the decemberists’ the tain is a musical re-telling of the Irish epic myth Táin Bó Cúailnge. the song is an 18 minute epic in it’s own right, and it’s a personal favorite of mine. it’s rarely played live, and has become a sort of holy grail for me (i’ve seen the band three times, and have yet to see the band perform it live).

after a long wait, the song has finally been given it’s own video treatment, and it is well worth a look:

in other news, the band releases the third and final installment in their “always a bridesmaid” singles series on 12/2, and their new album “hazards of love” is slated to be released in march. exciting times.
