LOST // Sundown liveblog

It’s LOST-pocalypse night! Last week’s Lighthouse was (groan) illuminating. Tonight we’re treated to the title-loaded episode, Sundown. Let’s see if the ABC promos live up to their claims. Here are the rules, the liveblog begins below:
9:59pm – Ben vs. Sayid stardown, talk about a frightening sequence. I’m mystified how Kate is still alive, considering Claire wanting to kill her. Clearly Faux-Locke has his reasons, if he wanted Kate dead she would be dead, right? Is she 108? WOW! Great episode.
9:52pm – Tell us what the baseball means! Oh man, I didn’t expect that to be the origin of the baseball. Who was the man in the hospital? Chang? Alpert? Jacob! “I’d like to stay.” Um…after that story you choose to kill him? OK, this is going to be bad. What will Sayid think when Faux-Locke attacks? Oh, he’s fully turned. Poor Sayid. Is it me, or is Smokie one of the coolest parts of the show?
9:42pm – Omar’s problems have become Sayid’s problems, that’s clear. Keamy! Not good to see this guy again. Nice moves Sayid. I find it fascinating that in the flash-sideways Keamy is killed by Sayid, but on the island young Ben shot Sayid landing him in hands of Dogen and company. And there’s Jin! Mob connections abound, so how does Jin’s father-in-law’s business connect to Keamy, and is there a further connection with Omar? Or just coincidence?
9:40pm — Kate spills the beans to Claire about Aaron…Wow, Claire is truly twisted. She looked ready to kill Kate, then and there. “He’s coming Kate, and they can’t stop him.” Expectedly, the people of the temple are fleeing. Whoa, Sayid plans to kill Dogen?
9:36pm – Ok, they cued the music…just not the kind I was thinking of. I didn’t catch that Omar was Sayid’s brother. Now the truth is revealed, Sayid can’t forgive himself. Anyone else find it ironic that he is being manipulated by Faux-Locke with the promise of Nadia, but in the flash-sideways he isn’t even with her. In fact, he keeps himself distanced from her because he doesn’t feel he deserves her? Sayid’s message is clear, the people at the temple can leave freely now, or die at sundown. A ha! Sundown.
9:34pm — Enter Sayid…the homemaker? Uh oh, Omar is at the hospital…the kids are in bed…Nadia and Sayid are alone. Cue the music.
9:32pm – Faux-Locke is EVIL. Pure evil. My goodness, and Terry O’Quinn is playing it to perfection. Something wicked is going to happen at the end of this episode, I can feel it. “What if I said that you could have anything in the entire world?” Playing on his desires, feeding him lies. The devil.
9:30pm – Oh man, the appearance of Faux-Locke is getting more and more creepy every time. Sayid did it!! But, he let Faux-Locke speak. It was already too late. “Now why’d you go and do that?” Great line.
9:28pm — The good in Sayid seems to be an ongoing theme throughout his character arc. Miles is sort of caught up in the middle of all of this, but his keen attention to detail is refreshing. Does he know more than he’s letting on? OH SHIT! Claire vs. Kate — it’s on!
9:26pm – Interesting that Nadia and her children are drawn to Sayid. Could they be his? He is leaving for Toronto to “work.” Nice Jack cameo. This is how Sayid gets pulled into taking action. He is a man of action, but his heart compels him to take action. He has a strong sense of right vs. wrong, but his rage can be misguided. Do we trust Dogen?
9:20pm – The angry man will not stop until he’s destroyed every living thing on this island. Whoa, Sayid being charged to kill Faux-Locke? His purpose maybe? A test of good vs. evil with death in the balance. Fascinating.
9:16pm – Interesting that we are suddenly seeing subtitles for Dogen’s dialogue. A ha, here’s the rub. Dogen is going to manipulate Sayid to talk to Faux-Locke maybe? Anyone else find Dogen’s potential real-world counterpart fascinating?
9:13pm – Extortion. Is Sayid being used? Omar knows what he is capable of. How does this reflect on the situation with Dogen. I still want to know what the baseball signifies. Whatever it was, it saved Sayid’s life.
9:11pm — Faux-Locke can’t pass the ash. Does Claire know why? Scratch that, she probably doesn’t really care. She just wants her Aaron back.
9:09pm — A little more mythology with Dogen’s explanation of the machine and the balance between good and evil in man. Sayid caused the scale to tip the wrong way. Oh snap! “I think it would be better if you were dead.” What is the significance of the baseball?
9:05pm – Catching up. Sayid was in Sydney on “business.” He brings flowers to Nadia…and she’s MARRIED?! With kids? Wait, UNCLE SAYID? I understand his desire to keep distance. Wait, who was on the phone?
